About 25 people gathered on the front lawn of Cody and Heather Dittenber's Littleton, Co. home Wednesday October 26, 2005 in a somber candlelight vigil to mark the loss of 2,000 American soldiers' lives in the war in Iraq. The vigil, coinciding with more than 1,300 nationwide, was meant to mark the grim milestone and featured the reading of names of all the soldiers from Colorado who lost their lives. Heather Gonzales-Dittenber said, "I wanted to give people a chance to express their feelings". The vigil was held by MoveOn.org in conjunction with Democracy for America..(MARC PISCOTTY/ © 2005)
