SHOT 11/18/11 5:26:10 PM - The last rays of light paint a colorful scene as the sun sets over the beach in Tulum, Mexico. Tulum (sometimes Tulum Pueblo) is the largest community in the municipality of Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is located on the Caribbean coast of the state, near the site of the archaeological ruins of Tulum. Several years ago, Tulum Pueblo was a quiet village 2 km (1.5 mi) from the archaeological site, and tourism outside of the ruins was limited to a few small shops and simple cabanas on the beach.
