SHOT 10/11/10 10:16:00 AM - Mother and daughter ferriers "Eli" (short for Elizabeth) and Rachel Hoyt, 14, of Diamond E Horseshoeing in La Salle, Co. "Eli" has been shoeing horses for more than 20 years and has brought her daughter in to help out during the summertime but Rachel isn't so sure that becoming a full-time ferrier is in her future. She said she's interested in studying forensic science in college. Elizabeth goes by "Eli" because the profession is still very male dominated. (Photo by Marc Piscotty / © 2010)
