SHOT 7/26/20 9:19:52 AM - Risto, a one year-old male Vizsla, plays with his sister Carly at a park in Vail, Co. Sometimes known as the Hungarian Pointer, the Vizsla probably descends from hunting dogs used by the Magyars, who settled Hungary more than a thousand years ago. Eventually, the dogs were developed to both point and retrieve. The Vizsla is lightly built but muscular, giving them speed and endurance. Their gait is light, graceful, smooth, and ground covering. Their short smooth coat is dense, providing some protection from the elements. Their golden rust color is a hallmark of the breed. (Photo by Marc Piscotty / © 2020)
