2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy - Closing Ceremony

A performer rides a metal ring around the stage during the Closing Ceremony for the 2006 Winter Olympics Sunday February 26, 2005 at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, Italy. The Closing Ceremony featured a dizzying array of circus acts, parades and a general carnival atmosphere. Performers included clowns swivelling in large hoops, ballerinas and tumblers, acrobats dangling high above the stage from ribbons and rings, a stilt walker jumping rope, dancers dressed as Tarot cards and highflying acrobats performing over a tunnel of wind. The Closing Ceremony capped off 16 days of Olympic competition that saw the U.S. win 25 total medals, second to only Germany with 29 total medals..(Photo by Marc Piscotty/ © 2006)
