SHOT 10/23/2007 -The Boudin Bakery (pronounced "bo-DEEN") is a famous bakery situated in San Francisco, California known for its sourdough bread (called Original San Francisco Sourdough French Bread). It was established in 1849 by Isidore Boudin, son of a family of master bakers from Burgundy, France, by blending the prevalent sourdough among miners in the Gold Rush with French techniques. The City and County of San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in California and the fourteenth-most populous in the United States. San Francisco is a popular international tourist destination renowned for its steep rolling hills, an eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture, its large LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) population, and its chilly summer fog and mild winters.
