SHOT 12/30/17 5:07:30 PM - Tanner, a 13 year-old male Vizsla, poses in front of a classic New Mexican doorway along Ledoux Street in Taos, N.M. Adobe means mudbrick in Spanish, but in some English-speaking regions of Spanish heritage, the term is used to refer to any kind of earth construction. Most adobe buildings are similar in appearance to cob and rammed earth buildings. Adobe is among the earliest building materials, and is used throughout the world. Taos is a town in Taos County in the north-central region of New Mexico in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, incorporated in 1934. As of the 2010 census, its population was 5,716 and is known for the historic Taos Pueblo and more recently as an artist enclave. (Photo by Marc Piscotty / © 2017)
