A lone aspen tree stands in stark contrast to the burned out evergreens surrounding it after the Brian Head Fire near Brian Head, Utah. The fire scorched about 72,000 acres in the Dixie National Forest in the summer of 2017 in the highlands between Parowan and Panguitch. The human-caused fire prompted the evacuation of the entire resort town at one point.
