The trail is almost entirely on singletrack that ranges from very smooth to somewhat rocky. The route is highly scenic and is a great way to see the whole valley that Telluride is nestled into and much of the surrounding San Juan Mountain range. Telluride is a former silver mining camp on the San Miguel River in the western San Juan Mountains and is set in a box canyon amid forested peaks at the base of a popular ski-and-golf resort.
