SHOT 9/7/2007 - A meerkat yawns while standing watch over the rest of the clan at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, Ill. The meerkat or suricate is a small mammal and a member of the mongoose family. It inhabits all parts of the Kalahari Desert in Botswana and South Africa. Chicago is the largest city in the state of Illinois, the largest in the Midwest and, with a population of nearly 3 million people, is the third largest in the United States. Chicago is a city rich in history and also renowned for its architecture. Chicago attracts about 33 million visitors annually from around the world and nation.
