Bruce Randolph Middle School first day of school
Bruce Randolph Middle School eighth grader Diana Lemus, 14, works on a lettering project in art class Monday morning at the school. The school, which opened in 2002, was one of Denver Public School's most poorly performing schools. The district has "redesigned" the school and new principal Kristin Waters, who used to run one of DPS' best-performing middle schools, has hand-picked her staff and program to make it work. The program called Challenge 2010 is aiming for a 100% graduation rate. Lemus said she had heard about the changes during the summer and said she liked the school the way it was.
