SHOT 3/1/2007-3/6/2007 - Oak barrels sit stacked in rows as wine ages inside each of them at a winery in Sonoma County, Ca. Winemaking, or vinification, is the process of wine production, from the selection of grapes to the bottling of finished wine. The secondary fermentation usually takes place in either large stainless steel vessels with a volume of several cubic meters of wine, or oak barrels, depending on the goals of the winemakers.(Photo by Marc Piscotty © 2007)
