SHOT 1/15/2002 - "Babe" a two week old female Charlais calf is lured by a milk bottle at feeding time one afternoon at the National Western Stock Show. Babe was born on Mark Richardson's MDR Farms in Morrison, Colo. She is being raised as a beef cattle. A cattle calf is the offspring of a cow and a bull. This terminology is also usually common to other species where the young is called a calf. A calf that has lost its mother is referred to as a dogie.
